The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will hold a public hearing to consider and receive comments on a budget adjustment that brings unexpended Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Rural Legacy Program grant money forward into the FY 2018 budget. The Sept. 19 hearing will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, 175 Main St., in Prince Frederick.
The Rural Legacy Program was created in 1997 to protect large, contiguous tracts of Maryland's most precious cultural and natural resource lands through grants made to local applicants. These grants provide for purchase of land or conservation easement by Calvert County Government in partnership with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.
For information, contact Calvert County Department of Planning and Zoning Planner III Rachel O’Shea at 410-535-1600, ext. 2339 or via email to Rachel.Oshea@calvertcountymd.gov. Individuals who cannot attend the public hearing may submit written comments. These comments must be received by 4:30 p.m., Sept. 19, 2017, by emailing COMMISS@calvertcountymd.gov or through the U.S. mail to the BOCC at 175 Main St., Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
