The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 13?year?old juvenile with making a threat of violence toward a group of students at Davis Middle School that occurred after school hours. A preliminary investigation showed that on September 8 at about 10 p.m., several students from Davis Middle School were on FaceTime when a 13-year-old relative of one of the students appeared on the call, displayed what appeared to be a firearm, and made a threat to come to the school the next day to harm the other people on the call. The incident was not reported to authorities. The following day, school administrators learned of the threat in the early afternoon and notified the school resource officer (SRO) who initiated an investigation. The SRO identified the juvenile, who is not enrolled in Charles County Public Schools, and conducted a home visit. After completing the investigation, the juvenile was charged on a juvenile offense report with making a threat of violence.
