LEONARDTOWN, MD (November 5, 2026) – Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division executed search and seizure warrants at a residence in the 47000 block of Sewell Road in Lexington Park on Wednesday, Nov. 4, recovering firearms, ammunition, suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS), and drug paraphernalia.

During the search, detectives located suspected fentanyl, suspected synthetic cannabinoids (K2), a Winchester Model 37A shotgun, 12-gauge shotgun shells, a loaded .22-caliber rifle with a round in the chamber and boxes of .22-caliber ammunition.

Detectives arrested two occupants of the residence, Thomas Emanuel Gross, 40, and Shameka Levae Harrod, 34.

Both Gross and Harrod were charged with multiple controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and firearms-related offenses, including possession of CDS, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, and possession of a shotgun and rifle following a conviction for a disqualifying crime.
